We process such sensitive personal data when you have provided your consent or otherwise required by applicable law, and this information will be collected and processed only for the particular purposes and activities for which the information is provided.

Your information, including personal data, is processed at the company’s operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in the processing are located. It means that this information may be transferred to—and maintained on—computers located within Nigeria. Your consent to this Privacy Policy, followed by your submission of such information, represents your agreement to that transfer.

PAL Pensions will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy, and no transfer of your personal data will take place to an organization or a country without your consent and adequate controls in place.

 

Information Retention

PAL Pensions will retain Your Personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your personal data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies. We will retain and use your personal data to the extent necessary to comply with our contractual obligations with you and once our contract with you has come to an end (e.g. closure of your account), we will only retain your personal data for a period of time that is, depending on the type of personal data, and the purposes for which we hold that information

 The Company will also retain usage data for internal analysis purposes. Usage data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when it is used to strengthen security or improve the functionality of our service, or when we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer periods.

 

Your Rights
Subject to applicable laws, Nigeria Data Protection Regulations, and/or pension industry guidelines, you have the following rights:

  • To request a copy of the personal data processed in relation to you
  • To request that we correct your personal data
  • To request that we delete your personal data, for example, if we no longer have a valid reason to process it
  • To object to how we process your personal data
  • You may request that your personal data be sent to another third party under specific conditions. Once the data is transferred, that third party will be responsible for its protection. Please be aware that this right applies only to information for which you initially gave us consent to use or that we used to fulfill a contract with you.
  • To restrict how your personal data is processed in certain cases, such as when the accuracy of your personal data is contested
  • To request a copy of the personal data you have given to us in a machine-readable format
  • Lodge a complaint with the Nigerian Data Protection Commission (NDPC).                 

 

Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is made pursuant to the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (2023) or any other relevant Nigerian laws, regulations, or international conventions applicable to Nigeria. Where any provision of this Policy is deemed inconsistent with a law, regulation, or convention, such provision shall be subject to the overriding law, regulation, or convention.
